When you say it check ok, can you please explain what you mean in more detail, because if your Alternator light comes on or is dim, your alternator is likely not producing enough amps to fully charge the battery. The battery may test good, but the alternator has to work too hard to keep it charged. Have a check run on the amperage output on your alternator to see if it produces the factory recommended amperage. You can get a tester or probably borrow one from Auto Zone auto parts if there is one near you. If not, you can buy an amp tested from your local auto parts store or you can take it to your local shop and they might test it for free.

I have 1997 ford taurus gl the ajar door light will not go off. it apperantly stays on after the car is turn off this draing the power on the battery and i then ai have s dead battery

you have two options. You can use a higher end scan tool to scan the GEM module to see what door ajar switch is stuck. You can then focus you attention on that door.

Option two is remove all four door panels and unplug the door ajar switch (starting on the drivers front which is the most common) and see which one finally turns off the door ajar switch.

You could also try this. Open the drivers front door. Liberally spray the latch (the part on the door that holds the door shut) with brake cleaner. Once it has dried liberally spray the area with a penetrating lube (seafoam Deep Creep is one of my favorites). Do be afraid to spray both in every nook and cranny you possible can in the latch opening. Once lubricated open and close the door several times then check to see if the door ajar light goes out. Don't be afraid to try this several times.

1997 Ford Taurus won't start

Hi i may be able to help with the problem, it sounds like you have a charging or battery issue. first i you need to check the battery connections, then find out if you have any charging problems, you will need to take the vehicle to an advance auto parts to have the charging and starting system checked. it may be something as simple as a bad connection or an alternator.

I am trying to find a copy of the fuse panel diagram for the 92 ford taurus. The interior lights are staying on and running down my battery. I dont know what else this could be.

Did you check the switch on the dash for dimming your dash lights? It may be turned all the way on and that would cause your interrior lights to stay on.

LIGHTS DIM FOR A SECOND AND GO BACK TO NORMAL!

the solenoid, it has a red power wire thats leads from the battery , check if the bolts are tight. See what happens, if nothing. Try replacing the solenoid. My car did this and changed out the solenoid, runs fine. Part $15 approx. You can replace it, easily done.
