Question about 1993 Mazda MX-6

The car has a new starter, but once you put the key in, it won't turn over. It just clicks. I was able to start it (manual transmission) by pushing it. Any suggestions?

1st check the battery connections, make sure there is no corrosion and they are tight (also starter connection). If that isn't the problem, take the battery to a parts store for a free check of it's condition. It is either low charge or is bad (clicking is classic undercharged or bad battery symptom). Let me know how you make out.

Battery is low or the wires are loose or corroded.

SOURCE: i have a new battery and yet the car won't start

Battery cables usually have a positive to the starter and a negative to the chassis. But there still has to be another ground strap from the chassis to the engine, because the engine is insulated on rubber mounts. So while it is likely to be the starter, it could still be the engine ground strap.
When you try to crank it, you should have a volt meter across the battery terminals.
If the battery is good, it should read about 12.5 volts.
When cranking, it should drop to around 10, and come back up to 12.5 when you stop cranking.
If it drops as low as 9, and does not come back to 12.5, then the battery is bad.
If it drops as low as 9 but comes back up, it is a bound engine or starter.
If it only goes down to 11, then it could be bad connections, like the ground strap, or the starter solenoid, or even brushes. But likely repairable.

SOURCE: My 1993 Buick Park Avenue just Clicks once when you turn the key on starter won't engage the battery is fine

Sounds like a bad starter or a bad battery cable connection to me. If you are certain that tyour battery is in good condition and fully charged, your battery cables are clean and tight and are making good connection on BOTH ends, replace the starter.

I have 2002 pt . I have no problem with it, started it and put in gear, went to pull out and it shut off, now it won,t start back up, put new battery in, new switch, still nothing,

Possible starter failure if the engine doesn't crank. You can try tapping on the starter motor using a blunt object while turning the key to see if it starts. If it starts, suspect a defective starter motor. If it is a manual transmission, you can push start it in gear

1998 Honda Accord Won't Start

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .

Turn key on, but doesnt even click. battery and starter are fine

This may be due to a bad neutral safety switch, is this car automatic or manual transmission?

If automatic try to start in neutral and if manual try to locate switch on clutch pedal and use a jumper wire to jump connector for switch, NOTE; If switch is jumped car will start in gear with pedal not pushed down and car will take off so this is just as a test not a repair!!!!!, good day

1994 Honda Prelude si starting problems

Your starter motor is either not getting power or in need of replacement. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with your car.

Also check your battery connections for no corrosion there as well as by the starter motor. Low voltage circuits in a car are extremely vulnerable to poor contact issues.

2008 impala won't start or shift out of park, key is difficult to remove from ignition.

Sound like a problem with the Neutral Ssafety Switch, this is located on top transmission (generally) and its possible that need some adjust.

Can i jump start my 1985 nissan truck if starter is shot, I tried to jump start my truck but it wouldn't start

If the starter is shot no jump start should not work. The starter is what spins the motor.

03 petrol S40 wont start, clicking from starter when i turn the key does this mean that the starter is f**ked? Also is there something about not push starting an S40?

Your starter is not hitting the flywheel. can be solenoid, can be something else. Starters are consumables, so if in doubt - get a new one.

You should not push start any AUTOMATIC transmission car. Any other is safe to push start.
