Possible causes P406 include EGR Valve clogged, dirty or leaky
- EGR valve damaged/defective
- EGR volume control solenoid valve
- EGR temperature sensor and circuit
- EGR volume control solenoid valve harness is open or shorted
- EGR volume control solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection
Possible causes P0108 - Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
- Manifold Absolute Pressure harness is open or shorted

2003 Lincoln Navigator, started bogging down on me and jerking when I tried to pass a vehicle that was doing 55 in a 65mph zone, I let up off the gas a little n it ran fine, but driving back home goin

Check it for codes

You most likely have a couple bad COP Ignition Coils,
possibly a bad EGR Valve or TPS Sensor

All those are common ford & lincoln items

Change the oxygen sensors just before the exhaust converters
if you have 100,000 miles on it

Replace the Gas & Air Filter & clean MAF Sensor with CRC MAF
Cleaner

Install New Spark Plugs

All I suggested should have beeb done when you got it

All your vehicles as well---It is called Preventative Maintenance

I have a code P0430 on a Lincoln after changings all coils on a 2004 Lincoln V6, what caused and How do I fix it?

P0430 is Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2).

A code P0430 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • The catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
  • An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
  • There is an exhaust leak

First, inspect for exhaust leaks.

Next step is to measure the voltage at the oxygen sensor on Bank 2. In fact, it would be a good idea to test each oxygen sensor while you're at it.

On kickdown the engine jerks and hesitate

Check the ignition coils, egr valve & tps sensor

You should have already changed the front (2)
O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles

Hopefully you have changed the trans & power
steering several times since new

2004 lincoln ls is hesitating badly. when you give it some gas it hesitates and has no uphill power. If you could give me some help that would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS

Give us the codes you have ,if the MIL Lamp
is on the dash Looks like an engine

If not, you still have COP Ignition Coil Misfires

Clean MAF Sensor--CRC MAF Cleaner

Replace both (2) FRONT ONLY -- O2 Sensors
at 100,000 miles

Also if the EGR Valve is original it is worn out
Any Vacuum load, which mostly prolonged is going
up hills

You still have bad coils, you will get 2 a year on an
LS and most Fords

V6 or V8 ???

Code reads egr valve/sensor problem. My check engine light recently starting flashing (instead of just staying on). I notice when it is flashing a shutter in the car and more difficulty driving. Also when...

EGR Valve failed, causing the MIL Lamp to come on and car to slam and ****, going up hills, that is when you have a high vacuum load on engine. May seem like a trans problem.

How to replace a throttle positin sensor on a 2004 lincoln ls

Because the EGR valve is in the way of one screw, your best bet is to remove the throttle body, them the sensor. You have two torx screws holding it on. T25 or something. This would be on a V8.

2004 lincoln ls,v6,no codes,no power when apply the gas pedal.

Did you check fuel pressure? Fuel filter fairly new? Air filter clean and all duct work tight? Battery voltage good when engine is running? Check Throttle Position Sensor for codes and values. Also Ignition coils go bad on these ,as often as you change your socks. TPS is avail on line and auto parts store. You do not have to go to dealer or change entire throttle body, just the sensor,if bad.

You will need a new TPS Sensor,Egr Valve, Ignition Coil or two and a Transmission Solenoid Pack, pretty soon. I have a 2004 V8 L/S. Tough car to troubleshoot and a never ending saga,as is most Fords.
