Per the shop manual those wires are brown and red. So pull back the black wire cover and check the color of those wires. On the V-6 the small red wire connect to terminal 2 , small brown wire connect to terminal 1. On the I-4 the small red wire connect to terminal S , small brown wire connect to terminal L

How do you replace alternator on 1986 fiero gt

Remove negative battery cable. Jack up rear of car. Remove passenger side rear wheel. Loosen A/C compressor tension bolt. Remove A/C belt. Disconnect 2 wire plug and single wire bolted to back of alternator. Loosen alternator tension bolt. Remove alternator pivot bolt from up top of bracket. Wiggle out through bottom.

Reverse for install.

FIERO GT V6 THE MANIFOKL IS GETING RED AFTER START THE ENGINE, WHAT I HAVE TO DO?

That is usually caused by a plugged exhaust system. Either the converter / pre-converter or muffler is plugged. Also check to make sure EGR valve is working properly

Where is the starter wire connected to?

It runs between the starter and the junction on the engine wall next to the battery (the junction has a bunch of red wires and other wires connected to black connectors with lots of wires and a couple metal bolts that secure some connections together)

Have an 84 Fiero and want to upgrade the alternator to a newer 100 amp style delco from about early/middle 90s. Where do the 3 sensor wires go to (the ones in the plug) not the one on the stud?

If you got the correct replacement alternator, the connector wires should just plug directly in to the new one. Make sure you have the right one, any thick red wire is the output to the battery, the rest i'm not sure, just compare to the old alternator you took out, maybe match up by comparing wire colors

Runs rich and miss fires

Make sure the spark plug wires are on right (propper firing order), and check the TPS sensor. Are there any exhaust leaks or vacuum leaks? Did you use the original intake manifolds and Holley throttle body? If not you need to replace the PROM chip with the one from the donor car.
