Where is the brake light switch located on the 1997 dodge neon

THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH IS DOWN AT THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN DOWN BY THE PEDAL LOOK UP TOWARDS THE UNDER SIDE OF THE DASH YOU WILL SEE AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ATTATCHED TO A SWITCH THAT IS ACTIVATED WHEN THE PEDAL ARM IS PUSHED DOWN. HOPE THIS HELPS. FYI. THIS SWITCH IS USUALLY IN THE SAME LOCATION ON MOST VEHICLES.

Brake light dodge neon 2002

Check the brake fuse in your dash's fusebox. Since the turns work, you know the bulbs are good, unless your Neon has separate brake lights. If the fuse is good, bulbs are good, then check for power at the brake light switch on the upper portion of the brake pedal. Should have 12 volts there all the time. Use a testlight or voltmeter to check. Good luck.

My back up lights wont work on my 97 dodge neon, i changed the fuse and the light bulbs, now what? help please

Hi!!
What controls the Back Up Lights is the Neutral Safety Switch/Back Up Switch, located on the transmission shifter (engine compartment). Check for 12v+ coming in from the fuse box to the Neutral Safety Switch, if OK, check for 12v+ out of the wire going to the back up lights when in Reverse, if no power, replace switch, if there is power, check wiring from switch to back up lights.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Is there a fuse for rear tail lights on a 1997 dodge neon? tail lights won't work

Yes there is a fuse but if I am not mistaken. I think the dash lights are on the same fuse so if they work then that would eliminate that. Is it just the running lights that dont work or the brake lights too? If all back lights are out, it could be a bad ground wire going to those two lights somewhere in the trunk or possibly could be bad bulbs.
