Try checking the low pressure and high pressure switches. If one of these are faulty it can keep compressor from working. Take a paper clip and jump the ports on the plug in for the switches and see if the compressor comes on if it does then that switch is bad.

I have freon leaking from the front of a/c compressor it seems like from the clutch on my 97 chevy lumina. i added freon because it was completely out and clutch was not engaging. what is easy fix

no easy fix
replace the ac compressor or have an a c shop replace the ac shaft seal
both are not diy domain as it requires an accredited ac professional to do the job to get the ac working properly again

97 chevy suburban AC clutch won't engage pressures

Looks like the low pressure switch gets power from a 10amp ac fuse. Power then goes to the ac relay which is powered on by the ac heat controller on the dash. Power then goes thru the high pressure switch to the compressor. The ac relay is grounded to the body. Do you have power on the lite and dark green wires going into the relay and is it grounded ?

New compresser just stopped working was very cold ran it all day and now the compressor is not kicking in and out how can you tell if it is a relay or loss of carge

FIrst, with any electrical problem, always check the fuses first. The only way to correctly check the charge of the AC system is with a set of guages. You can assume the charge is good and procede with the electrical diagnosis, but it may all be a waste of time if the system has lost the charge. With the AC on, if there is a proper charge in the system, there should be 12v at the compressor clutch connector. This will be a 2 wire connector just behind the AC pulley. You will need a 12v test light, meter, or some way to check for voltage. If there is 12v and the compressor is not engaged, then the clutch coil has gone bad. If there is not 12v then you will need to check the relay for voltage. Sometimes you can swap relays with another that has the same part number. If the original relay is bad then the compressor will start working after the swap. Check all the fuses, under the hood and under the dash. Sometimes a fuse will control more than one circuit.

The A/C on my wifes 97 Blazer is not working. I

do u have power to the AC compressor clutch cycling switch, this switch is in the low side, either in the larger of the two AC lines or in theround canister called the "Accumulator" under the hood, still think u have lost your charge, this year is prone to AC compressor front shaft seal leaks. below is a picture of the clutch cycling switch.

Kompressor not kicking in.

CHECK TO SEE IF AC COMPRESSOR GETTING POWER IF NOT CHECK COMPRESSOR CLUTCH WIRES FOR DAMAGE.AND CHECK THE FRONT SAM CONTROL MODULE FUSES AND RELAYS. AND A OPEN REFRIGERANT PRESSURE TEMPERATURE SENSOR WILL CAUSE TO AC COMPRESSOR NOT TO COME ON.IF YOU ARE GETTING POWER AT THE COMPRESSOR.EITHER COMPRESSOR CLUTCH COILS IS OPEN.OR YOUR REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TOO LOW.

AC Compressor not engaging on 2000 Chevy Impala. Fuses and AC relay okay. No power at compressor. Need wiring diagram. Also need to know if compressor requires 12v for operation. If not what should voltage...

When your R-134a runs too low it will NOT engage the compressor. You need to refill your a/c system before the clutch will engage, I also suggest finding the leak.

Ac clutch not engaging

you will have to see with test light if you have power going to the ac compressor you either have bad compressor or low pressure switch

Ac new and ran for 4 months then stoped.

Try checking the spacing of the clutch of the compressor to your A/C...chances are the gap is too large and will not pull down to engage the compressor. That should eliminate the jump wire and keep your car snowing. No clutch to engage the compressor, no A/C.

NISSAN 240SX A/C PROBLEM.

HI,
Yeah have the voltage to the compressor checked!..By turning on the A/C when hot (and not working),Add a test wire to the 12v output of the A/C relay, to "boost" the 12v amps/voltage going to the compressor clutch. As soon as the test wire touches a strong 12v source, the clutch immediately kicks in. Remember that 12v already existed on that wire, but a stronger 12v source helped give the clutch the extra kick it needs. Thank you!!..Hope this helps you out buddy!!.. :)
