Dash lights don't work and headlights do not automatically comeon
This past week I took at trip from Nebraska to Minn. We ran into some fog. I turned on the fog lights. After we got through the fog I turned off the fog lights. When we got to Minn. I noticed that when I got out of the car that dinging sound comes on as if I left the keys in the ignition or left the lights on but I had the keys in my hand and had shut the lights off. When I went to drive the car later the lights did not automatically come on like they used to do and the dash lights did not work. When I start the car with the remote starter both the headlights and the dash lights come on but as soon as I put the key in the ignition they go out and I have to manually turn the headlights on and the dash lights still will not come on. Any ideas what may be wrong with it?

Someone may have ran the wiring from the fog lights on the same circuit that the headlights are on and therefore it is taking some voltage away from the headlights, might need to run the fog lights on a different circuit with a fusable link in it for safety.
I had that exact problem with my 2005 Kia optima.. It suddenly started one morning.. My Kia would not turn over.. I felt it was a power issue so I unattached my after market fog-lights that I have attached to my battery.. That got my ride to start, but upon driving it refused to go past 3000 rpms (in all gears)... I took apart my battery terminals and scrubbed them down with a tooth brush and coca-cola.. That was a perfect fix for my situation.. My Kia ran perfectly right after... Good luck
Please be advise that if you drive this and the check engine light is flash on and off. you should not drive it any more till you find the problem because you can cause more damage to the truck if the light is flash. there are many things that could cause this running condition: TPS, EGR, Bad injector, Idle air control and more would need to know codes that are in the computer, engine size 2 or 4 wheel drive, does it have A/C, Cruise, traction control, ABS brakes, then I maybe able to help you
