Disconnect one battery cable.
Place a 12 volt test light between the battery post and the disconnected cable.
If you see a bright light you do have a drain.
Take one or more fuses and relays out at a time until the test light goes dim.
Dim is normal.
Dim is the memory circuits in the radio etc.

Remember....opening the door will create a drain......the interior lights.......while not on......would be on with the door open and the battery connected.
Keep it closed.
If you open the hood disconnect the under hood light while testing.
Also remember....just because the alternator is charging does not mean it might be draining the battery.
If all the fuses do not turn out the light......disconnect the alt wiring to check it.
Lastly.......a battery check should be made if no drain is seen in the vehicle.....as in "no bright test light".
Disconnect one cable over night.
If the battery is loses voltage while disconnected it is draining itself internally.

Well if lights are not staying on then you have a draw of power somewhere. Easy way to find out is volt meter. You take off negative cable and put one end of meter to battery post and other to wire dont let the wire touch post or anyother metal of vehicle. Then go through your fuse box and pull fuse's one at a time until you see voltage on meter drop. Meter should should a (-)negative voltage at start and get smaller when right fuse is pulled take notes and pull all one at a time and replace back in orginal spot. If you find one that really lowers the negative voltage draw on meter good chance you found where problem is. Id start by checking all interior lights first, including glovebox.

2006 Toyota Sequoia AC light on dash stays on and AUTO button seems stuck. Did what the manual said to do and it did not work. How do I get the auto button off and is it going to burn out my AC compr

That won't burn out the compressor. It could be dead already. There are several things that will keep the light on, in the dash. High, low pressure switches, A/C .heater controller malfunction, wiring, and the compressor is bad. All these turn the light on, but all will shut down the system. Put it on a scanner and find out what's wrong.

My mechanic stated that the ignition lock cylinder on my 2003 Buick Century could be causing the battery to go dead because you can remove the key from the ignition in any position. Battery, alternato

Why would you not have the key cylinder replaced,
if that is even the problem ?

That makes no sense to use a car like that

Now your new battery will go dead & be ruined

The fan that keeps runnuing will be the fan for the radiator, Some cars allow the fan to keep running after shutting down the engine to cool the water in the radiator. They run for a short time 5 -10 minutes or less but will cut off. If it keeps running the timer controller or temp sensor is faulty. Have an auto elec check it out.

I cant turn off the headlights off while my 03 GMC Sierra Z71 is running, the manual switch does nothing unless the truck is turned off.

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra Z71 Extended Cab and the headlight switch won't turn off the headlights while the truck is running. When I got the truck the Photocell Sensor which is the black bubble that sits on the dash that tells the daytime running lights to turn off and on was down in the dash so I fished it out with my fingers and clipped it back in and it made the daytime running lights work. I still can't turn my headlights off while my truck is running though. The owner's manual says that I am able to do so. There's 2 light's on the switch by AUTO and the O for off that should light up? Is it my whole switch?

2003 Toyota Corolla Headlights

I have an 03 corolla and in 04 we had this same problem. It was really bad when the temps would dip very low(appeaered to be cold sensitive). I would jump-start the car and let it warm up and the problem would go away. The dealership replaced the module that worked with the sensor(the sensor for the auto headlights) and since then we have not had this problem. Also from my understanding there was a manufacturers release on this, but not a recall. Hope this helps.

1997 park ave battery dies over night

I just posted my experience in another place on this site but on my 1992 PA the accessories relay stuck closed. This relay is the one that allows you to listen to the radio etc and keep things on until you open the door then all shuts off. When it is stuck closed accessories keep running until your battery drains dead. The relay was replaced and all worked great.
