You probably have a broken wire at the 3 prong connector at coil.

Is this a GM vehicle? Which one, what is engine litre size?
How long since a tune-up? If no spark check plugs and plug wires--check cap and rotor. If it has a coil wire to distributor take it loose from distributor, hold close to engine ground, have helper crank while you watch for spark, if no spark, could coil wire or coil, Check primary voltage coil, usually goes hot with key on. The coil also needs a ground usually controlled by ignition module.

Ignition mystery! 1994 GMC Suburban 2500 5.7 mtr. No spark to spark plugs. Have spark from coil to distributor. Have changed coil wire, cap, rotor, ignition module, and coil. have 12.5 volts going to...

I guess you could have the ignition analyzed on an oscilloscope. Maybe a tech could see something then.
I always heard the only gap was the spark plug gap-the rotor has no gap-are you sure you got the correct rotor? And does it touch the top distributor cap coil wire tower?

Let us know. It is a mystery worthy of a solution.

Unfortunately you probably need a new distributor. There are three pick-up coils mounted down inside the base of it. They go bad quite commonly. The unfortunate part is; the new distributor will come with a new cap, rotor, coil and module...which you have already bought. The distributors are not that expensive though, maybe you can sell the extra parts???

Replaced entire ignition still no spark 88 305 ci

There are 3 possibilities. 1 the coil. 2 the ignition module. 3 the pick up coil. In my experience the ignition module is the most common cause. It is in the distributor held in with 2 screws. The coil and module can be tested at any parts house. Good Luck

No spark on 1988 s-10 pickup 2.8 new plugs,wires coil,cap and rotor.ran for about 20mins and then quit,wont start

It could be that the ignition module is defective and causing this problem. If it's the original ignition module it may be time to replace it. The ignition module can be tested by your local Shucks or Auto Zone usually for free, The module when its starting to go out will work fine until it warms up, it will then quit working because the coils inside of it short out, until it cools down. If the module is completely gone there will be no spark at any time, The module is inside the distributor under the rotor held in by a couple of screws,
