Deterrmine if it is mechanical or voltage issue. you should have a source voltage of at least 12 volts minimum at the battery and also at the starter solenoid. If those are good then time to look at the starter itself , check proper mounting and for good ground , as well as if you have a rebuilt unit then remove it and bench test it with a set of jumper cables and a remote starter button...

2003 yukon will not turn over. When I turn the key all the dash lights come on. It started doing this about 6 months ago. It would usually start after 2 or 3 tries or if i put in nuetral and let roll a few...

Could be a problem with the anti-theft system, the neutral safety switch, the key switch, or the actual starter.
Will it crank in neutral instead of park ? Do you have power at the starter posts when the key is in the start position ?
Is the security light blinking ?

2002 GMC Yukon XL 5.3 Cold start

What happens if you bring power directly to the starter solenoid? Will it crank then? You need to try to isolate the problem. If it will crank with direct power, the starter is NOT the issue. Let us know what you find.

MY 2001 GMC YUKON XL WILL NOT START OR TURN OVER. I REPLACE A NEW STARTER AND BATTERY, WHAT ELSE NEED TO BE DONE. ITS SEEMS LIKE ITS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch. Then check the battery cables and ground connections.

My 2001 GMC will not start, and I hit the starter beneath the suv and it still woould not start. Could my starter be bad and need to be replaced?

I did all that...turns out it was the pcm fuse and the fuel pump. Since I have been making inquiries, I have heard GMC trucks/suvs have fuel pump problems...

2001 gmc yukon won't start battery checks good, cant jump start won't turn over, lights come on but go dim when trying to satrt

sounds like the starter motor is jammed or shorting get someone to turn the ignition to start and at same time hit starter motor, if this does not work, put vehicle in gear and rock back and forth, this hopefully will release a stuck starter, if it is auto you obviusly cant do that, you can try attatching wires directly from your battery to the starter motor ie live to the red connector earth anywhere on the starter(not on the live terminal) and see how that works...hope that helps

I cannot get the bolts loose that hold the caliper on.

Try an open-ended wrench (on my 2001 Yukon XL on the rear, it was a 5/8") that is just inside the bolt head (bolt retainer) on the caliper -both top and bottom bolt. If you have that same config, the bolt retainer is just spinning when you are turning the bolt head. The wrench will allow you to put leverage on the retainer, and the bolt will come out quickly, as it is a short bolt.
