Either he's talking about the field wire plug on the alternator or the battery positive feed wire , field wire is usually a two wire plug and the battery wire is single large wire around 8 gage or so. look for loose connection at either of these wire locations...

For some it is relatively easy, first locate your ground cable on your battery and disconnect it, do this to avoid any possible hazard for shock or spark, remove any jewelry such as rings or watches to avoid being electrocuted or burned by touching across the battery posts. Locate field plug on alternator usually on top or just to side of alternator with two wires, one wire excites the voltage regulator by sending battery voltage to it with key on, the other light is what activates the alternator light on the dash. check for a loose connection here or with the plug disconnected and the battery ground reconnected one of the wires should test at 12 volts. Now the large red gage wire is the charging output voltage wire that goes through the harness at winds up at the starter solenoid where it returns voltage to the battery for charging purposes. A basic illustration... Just check for loose connections in either case and repair as needed...

2000 nissan frontier xe. starter went out, replaced started. worked for a couple days and went out again, starter had factory defect, put new starter in and still wont turn over, just clicks a lot. all

When you get your Frontier started after jump starting it, does it stay running? If it does, you probably just have a bad battery. If you have a battery and brake icon come on, on your dash, you probably have a bad alternator. you could go to auto zone and they will be able to test your battery.

It sounds like the diodes in your altenator are shot. If you can get it to your local parts store, like Advanced Autoparts or Auto Zone, they will test your charging system for free. That will tell you if it's your battery, alenator or both. Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra and the light flicker and abs light flickers when i hit bumps in the road what could be the problem?

It sounds like a loose ground wire, which one, I can't tell you. If its in the dash, there are ground wires connected to the car frame. You probably find it by looking under the drivers dash. It will be a wire connected to the frame by a screw or nut. Just tighten it up, and should solve the problem. also check the power plug to the gauges and make sure its tight. Best I can do.

Car starts with jump and drives but wont start by itself

well if the altenator is charging it will run after getting a jump, you replied you put a battery charger on it but that dont mean the cold cranking amps are good or it could have a dead cell. I would have the battery tested for sure. If you didnt drive far after jump the altenator may be bad but having the battery charged and still does it tells me it is least likely. If the battery tests good the cables could be corroded under the sheath where you cant see. There are other reasons but from what you have posted sounds like you need a battery most auto stores test them for free (load test also)
