Try spraying WD-40 on the door latches. Sometimes the sensors get dirty.

03 bonneville interior lights are staying on wont go off. what could be the problem?

The problem is caused by either a defective door ajar switch or the interior light relay. it can be any of the four switches, so the best thing to do is have the BCM scanned to see which switch is the issue. The switch is attached to the door latch inside the door.

Interior lights wont go off

This could be a number of things. There are door switches, manual switches, and the body control module that operate the lights. If you don't have electrical skills you will need to get someone who does. Or you can simply remove the fuse on the passenger side fuse box but then you will not have lighting at all.

1996 jeep grand cherokee no automatic interior lights

1. If you have the light switch in the wrong mode the lights will not operate when you open the door.

2. If the interior lights do not operate at all (ie you cannot switch them on and off manually)then you need to check the fuse for the interior lights.

3. When set to the correct mode, the interior lights will operate from a door operated switch so if the switch has failed the lights will either stay on or not operate at all when you open and close the door. Eventually these door switches fail with repeated use and need to be replaced. (Consider how many times the small door switch has been operated since 1996).

I would check to see that the interior lights are not turned off , the switch that scrolls up and down next to the headlight switch might be turned all the way down if not you need to check the fuses
Good luck

The dome lights in my 2005 pontiac montana won't shut off on their own, i have to manually turn them off at the switch, any help is useful to me, thanks

Most common problem is a sticky door switch. Spray the door switches liberally with WD-40 or similar product and manually push the switch by hand several times to work the lubricant into the switch. If this doesn't fix the problem, try to isolate the faulty switch by alternately opening one door at a time and manually pushing on the switch with your hand and observe if the dome light goes out.

Interior lights do not come on when door is opened 2008 pont g6 gt

1. Check to ensure the interior light manual switch is not set in the fully off position. If it is, the interior lights won't come on when opening the doors.

2. I assume you can switch on the interior lights manually at all times.

3. If everything checks out and there is no obvious cause then the door activated switches are no doubt faulty or the wiring to the door switches is faulty.

The car is a 2008 build and should still be covered by the manufacturer's new car warranty unless the maximum warranty miles have been exceeded.

No power windows door locks interior lights or key chimes

try checking the pin switches in the door jambs if you have no power to these items with the door open i would lean toward the pin switches being stuck or bad ground or broken not an uncommon problem
