Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
Had the same problem - and thanks to the internet found the solution...
Open the front door and the hatchback. Now insert the key into the ignition and start the car.
Voila! The alarm is disabled!
If this doesn't sound like control-alt-delete, I don't know what does!
Now I'm searching to find out how to turn it back on - because, while this stopped the alarm from going off, it also deactivated the keyless entry.
Iam going to take mine to the dealer to have it all reset. You can do the same when you have your new key programed
