Test....do not answer...test

Ok...sorry about the test thing...fighting a system "glitch"...When you check your oil, is the vehicle always in the same place on flat ground? Sounds silly but I can't see what you are doing but you are checking with the engine turned off right?
Only thing that can change oil level like that is if there is a bunch of sludge in the head, under the valve cover. That will block the oil returns and cause the cover to fill with oil, instead of running back down to the pan. When you check it when you first turn it off you will see a low oil level....let it sit for an hour and it will read full or overfull. If that's what is happening you will need to remove the cover and clean it out as best you can. Make sure any return holes are clear and that you avoid permitting too much debris from falling into the engine. Then re-start it, let it run for fifteen minutes or so and then change the oil, adding one quart of marvel oil instead of the last quart of regular oil.. After doing this I recommend changing the oil again in about 1,500 to 2,000 miles and the filter only at another 1,500, adding whatever you lost. On your next change and thereafter, continue using the marvel...it will slowly dissolve any gunk deposits elsewhere in the engine. Don't use engine flush...it loosens too much debris too fast and it will pack up on the pump inlet.
Don't use cheap single grade oil...it contains too much paraffin and will cause deposits to form.Stay with a good name brand like quaker state etc.

Oil smell inside jeep liberty

key factor here, is source

my guess, is the car was never serviced?

and the PCV valve clogged long ago and now you have illegal

engine bypass gases venting at hoses cracked or lots of places

and the PCV gases do stink, that will wift in the the cab.

that is my wild guess. but do get a mech to find it.

we can smell anything here, nor try to find source.

and do replace the PCV if clogged. or at 60,000 miles.

high oil usage , do tell, quarts per 3000 miles.

and high speed will suck more oil as will running thin oil.

2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L overheating

it's overheating, for sure,
is coolant levels dropping? cold checked at rad cap?
"pulled over and found a hose to cool the radiator and hose near the thermostat,"
i can not understand this statement"above"
if it overheat only parked, check fan for full ops.
if overheats moving too, wont stay cool moving fast
then:
bad rad cap
bad thermostat , they have 7 year life says STANT. (and why)
belts slipping (to water pump)
rad cores blocked (IR thermo gun it) ask
water pump impellers rust 1/2 gone?

all this assumes no coolant loss, if you have loss, tell where.,
where it leans
ground
passengers toes (foot well)
engine oil pan? milky oil
if A/T TRANS, check it for milky too.

Please advise me proper maintenance for 2007 jeep liberty sport 36000 mile. last service (34000) it was a list of supposed required stuff to do. just want to know what is needed and not. thanks

I don't know how much maintenace you have done in the past. Besides the normal inspections of the brakes, fluid levels and oil changes they do recomend changing the spark plugs and the axle fluid at 30,000 miles and adjusting your parking brake cable. hope this helps....

If you have tested fuses and bulbs with test light, and they check out,
the next step is to put you jeep in reverse with the key on,and use your test light to probe the wires before they enter the bulb sockets for power,if you have power replace sockets,if not check to make sure wires are still connected to back up light switch on trans,if you find no problem there, replace the switch
