Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My ac, power windows, the power locks, ALL Stopped working!!!

My ac, power windows, the power locks, and the little information screen have all stopped working.The worst part is that I have to drive the car with the windows up and no AC!!!! I think its more then 90 degrees in the car!!! I have no owners manual and the guy at the autoparts cannot find the fuse for the windows or the ac.I drive a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Please Help Me!!!

    Thanks Everyone for Trying to help.I found the problem which many other people had the same problem with.I opened the plastic boot in the door frame and a wire was broken in half.All it needs is to be spliced and put back together.

    So I thought I found the problem but its still not working.The black wire inside the plastic boot in the door frame was snapped in half but after fixing it, nothing has changed.Its not working still.

There is a power accessory relay under the hood or inside the fuse block/power distribution center that feeds these accessories. The relays wear out, rendering everything they feed inoperative. ChryCo often used the same part/numbered relay for several locations in the Power Distribution Center on numerous ChryCo-branded vehicles, including Jeeps.

    I suggest you check the relay(s) in the power distribution center, and make sure you have power TO the door/accessories with the key ON/RUN or in the ACC position. There should be a "hot" lead wire or two that feeds the power door locks and the window switch. If there is "hot" BATT power at those control switches, your switches or grounds may be bad. If the wires are all "dead", then go to the relay(s) and isolate which one(s) feed(s) those accessories, and replace it/them. The relays are the weak point. Bad/weak grounds can cause grief, too. Try grounding the door directly to the body with a #12 guage wire, making sure you have clean, bare metal grounding contact points, and see if that does anything. If there was one broken wire, there may be more, not readily visible. A dead-shorted (grounded) power feed wire can ruin/blow a control relay quickly. I once overcame an elusive bad ground circuit in a factory door wiring harness with a braided wire ground strap connected to the door and the body near the upper door hinge on a Volvo 760GLE vehicle. The windows and door locks once again functioned, and even better than with the factory ground wiring!. The hard-to-locate damaged ground circuit wiring in the factory Volvo harness was somehow broken/compromised, and the simple, direct grounding of the door to the body through the added braided ground strap worked on that vehicle. The movable door hinges were not a good enough ground path by themselves. This is often the case with trailers and pin, ball or pintle hitches. A separate, sufficient, dedicated, direct ground path must be established and provided other than the trailer hitch coupling/connection to avoid inoperative or flickering lights, blown fuses and relays, or harmful voltage surges from inadequate, sporadic grounding of auxiliary lighting and other critical electrical loads/functions such as electric brakes. Be patient...work methodically from the battery (hot) to the accessory through the harness, relay(s) and switches, back to the battery(body/ground circuit). Electricity follows the laws of physics.

Ac stopped working, then lost raido and clock and now power door locks wont work


Start at fuse box... replace fuses blown. is it an after market stereo? if so may have exposed wires shorting out in back, which are any 12volt wires that are bare and touch any metal on car.

AC does not work in 1995 honda accord


can you hear the compressor kicking on when you turn it on? If yes, the system may just need a recharge. Also they can iject dye into the system at the same time of charging to see if it has a leak.

If only the one door lock is not working, the actuator has probally gone bad. An electrical problem may exist, but is not what I would go after first. Check for power and ground signals at the actuator(will have to remove the inner door panel) if you have power and ground, replace the actuator

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado - the power windows and door locks stopped working, but the remote works the locks? Any idea what is causing this?

If the problem affects all your doors/windows check the fuses. Normally it would be among the many fuses in the fuse box. You may want to reference this page for fuse location, specs and other information.
