The rim is stuck on the truck. It won't come off after taking the lug nuts off. And, yes it is jacked up off the ground. It won't budge. It is like something is locking it on. The owners manual said to put it in 4L and then proceed with the process. I did that and it is not working.

It's a common problem when moister gets between tire tire and the hub. I see it all the time in my shop. Just put one lugnut back on loose and give the tire a good kick. That's the trick that works for me. :)

Change tire

You need a jack to lift the vehicle high enough to get the tire off and the new one on, you need a lug wrench to loosen and tighten the lug nuts and depending on the rims you might have hub caps that are part of the rim or seperate and if they are seperate, you need something to pry them off with. So the proper way to do this is:
Before you raise it with the jack, take the lug wrench and loosen the lug nuts a little. This is easier when the tire is on the ground because depending on the tire location, it will turn if you lift it. So when the weight is on it, it wont turn. Then you put the jach under the car and near the tire you are lifting and you use the jack to raise the tire. Then finish taking the lug nuts off. Remove the tire and put the new tire on. You may have to raise the jack some more to make it high enough. Put the lug nuts back on tight as you can and lower the car. Then tighten the lug nuts again to be sure. You should tighten lug nuts by skipping them. In other words start with one and tighten it, skip the next one and tighten the third one. When you go all the way around, go to the ones you skipped and tighten those.

How do you change the front left tire of a 1998 saturn wagon?

You just take off the hub, if equipped. Loosen the lug nuts. Jack the car up and take the lug nuts off. Take off the tire and put the new one on. If you need to get it off the rim, you need to let the air loose. Pry the tire off and put the new one on. It is hard to do unless you have the proper machine.

Rim will not come off

put 1 lug nut on a few turns do not comletely tighten and hit tire on inside with a mini sledge hammer do not hit rim, if you have aluminum rims this happens because of the oxidation and gets stuck on the brake rotor

I have a stuck lug nut through the rim into the rear hub due too someone starting the nut with an air gun and cross threading the nut during a tire rotation. How can I get the tire off.

try heating up the bolt with a mapp gas torch and using an air gun to remove it otherwise you may have to take it to your local tire shop and spend roughly $30 on having it removed. to install (once the old one is out) just push it in by hand put your new lug nut on and crank down on it till it reaches the end good luck!

The right rear tire is stuck and will not come off, on a mazda mpv 2000. the lug nuts are off. the e brake is off. the tire will go forward but not side to side.

Take a big hammer (sledge) and hit the sidewall of the tire and try and jar it off. if all else fails take the hammer underneath the car and hit the tire out, be careful make sure the jack is secure. Also be careful not to hit the rim because you can dent it or hurt the rim. If the lug nuts are all off then that tire has to come off. good luck

Back rims are stuck on truck even with lugs loose and truck jacked off ground. I tried putting one lug back on loose and kicking tire and tried putting it in 4L and neither trick worked. Seems like they...

Wheels often sieze themselves onto the hubs, Best thing is to jack the car up , place it on an axle stand, and hit the wheel rim, from inside out, place a piece of ragon the rimwhere you will hit it, one firm followed through hit, with a sledge hammer, you will need to rotate the wheel each time you hit the rim. Once the wheel is off, do what you must and on refitting, clean the area of the hub and the wheel parts where they mate with a wire brush, ideally after that if you can get some copperslip or grease, smear some around the wheel rim inner part and the hub where they mate. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES use the grease on the wheel studs, nuts or bolts, as it can cause the wheel fixture (nut or bolt ) to undo and the wheel can fall off. Hope that helps

Hi, I am trying to change right rear tire on lexus LX470 1999 model, but after unscrewing the tire bolts I can't remove the tire off. Am I missing something ?

yes aluminum rims? if so your aluminum rims ahve vulcanized themselves to your stell brake rotors. this happens with dissimilar metals. only force and heat will make it come off. you can try yourself or have a shop do it. at home jack up car , remove lug nuts. place car on jack stands with the offending wheel in the air. you will have to throw a large heavy solid wooden block to dislodge the stuck wheel. it is not easy or pretty to do.

Cannot remove flat tire. Seems to be stuck

oxidation can cause corrosion to build up between the wheel and hub which will cause the wheel to "stick" to the hub take a dead blow hammer or rubber malet and hit the inside lip of the rim to pop the tire off.

Tire stuck/lug nuts removed

use 3lb sledge on inner edge of rim be careful not to damage rim rubber mallet won't provide enough shock to loosen rust. ps leave one lug nut on so tire won't fly off.
