My volvo v70 drivers door will not open

My first thought is that there may be a broken linkage inside the door. The drawback to that is that you need the door open in order to work on it. It could be the lock linkage or the handle. I would suggest having a locksmith look at it. They have some tools that will allow them to look down in there and possibly see what's going on. (Very doubtful they would be able to fix it)

I have a volvo v70 2001. The fuel door won't open. I thought there was a way to open it from inside the car, but I am having trouble.

There is. V70 means it is a wagon so it is going to be on the same side as the fuel door inside of the car. The handle is usually yellow or a neon green. Check where the jack is kept.

The driver side door latch will not work from the inside. i have to reach out the window to open the door from the outside.

Sounds like the linkage that runs from the handle inside the door to the locking mechanism is dislocated.

This requires opening up the door panel and re-attaching. It may have completely broken in which case needs a new linkage which you can find at and local auto parts store.

2001 Volvo V70-T5 fuel guage malfunction

I had a similar issue and started to notice other electrical failures along with the gas gauge. My rear doors would not lock and my rear wiper stopped working. I started pulling fuses and relays to see if this would reset, no go. But then I hit the jackjpot. In the rear electrical panel, below all the fuses and relays is a 2" x 2" black plastic square with a big screw in it.

Remove the screw and pull evenly on the black square. This seems to be a major electrical hub for the car. I reconnected and all 3 of my issues disappeared...I read somewhere that a fix might be to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, which I guess re-sets some relays and circuits, but I guess this did the same thing. Good luck.

Volvo V70 Workshop/Repair manual

No.

You should purchase the factory repair manual. With current dealership repair rates at 90 to 120 dollars per hour, It should pay for itself the first time you use it.

If you want a cheaper manual, Chilton's is good if you are technically proficient, and Hayne's is better if you aren't. Both can be purchased at Auto-Zone, NAPA, etc,

Door won't shut

I had the same problem on nearly the same day. The rear door would not close, and then in trying to fix it I flipped a latch closed. After trying all the child safety and power locking features, I just poked around with a small screwdriver until I could open the spring that held the latch closed. Once I got that open, the door worked normally.
