Question about 2002 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab

The automatic transmission fuse blows (only when it is in reverse

The automatic transmission fuse blows on my 2001 Crew Cab Nissan Frontier the truck feels like the transmission is in overdrive and the Check Engine light comes on. When the truck is turned off, it will not crank. If you replace the fuse, it will then run. It seems that it only will blow when it is in reverse.

Replace the transmission range switch for starters, if that doesn't correct the problem you have have a shorted shift solenoid on the valve body inside the transmission.

2001 nissan frontier is blowing ignition fuses when you let out on the clutch in first gear and reverse

Hi Brent,

Wow! That is a dilema! The only thing I can think of is that there is possibly a wiring harness that is rubbed through and when the engine rocks when the clutch is engaged, the wiring harness is shorting to ground. If you can tell me exactly WHICH fuse is blowing I can possibly help you to locate the source of the problem. Please also include WHICH ENGINE your Nissan is equipped with and let me know if it is 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive.

2001 Frontier no AC, fan only blows on position 4 (high)

You need to replace your cab filters. So do I but do not know how to remove them. They are bewing the glove compartment. I've taken out 3 screws and 4 8mm bolts. Can pry top and bottom apart a little and see them but havn't been abel to remove them yet.

Check instrument panel fuse first. It would be labled on the fuse door or in manual. If not blown i would suspect the dimmer switch. There are to many bulbs in a instrument panel for them all to blow at one time.
