Question about Ford Explorer

1 Answer

I am switching out my 2.9 for a 4.0 in my bronco II. The engine is out of a 98 explorer. The engine starts and idles fine, but when I give it gas, it bogs out. I have replaced the mass air and tps, and I have tested the fuel pressure. I am pulling my hair out can someone help?

It could have a weak or failing ignition coil. The other thing I can think to look for would be an exhaust restriction.. (clogged catalytic converter)

What about the fuel filter?? was it replaced?

I had a geo metro that sat a long time and the gas turned to varnish. You will need to drop the tank, clean out the gunk, put in a new fuel pump and and filter and flush the fuel lines out to the injectors.
