Adding a highly flammable fuel like ether shows all the other elements are in place to create ignition. Your problem is obviously related to your cars fuel system. Whether it is a pump that is not providing the fuel to your cars fuel injection system, or your fuel injector nozzles no working properly is a question that cannot be answered here. All I can do is point you in the right direction. Typically these days computer analysis is warranted to trouble shoot which sub-system of your fuel delivery system is malfunctioning.
I would highly recommend you describe your issue to a reputable garage capable of doing some system testing, and they should be able to quickly pinpoint where precisely your issue is.

Have a fuel pressure test done, it could be a weak fuel pump, or a faulty fuel pressure regulator.

Check your fuel pump and replace the fuel filter. The ignition and timing system is OK but it is not staring because the gas is bad, unlikely, or there is a fuel delivery issue, most likely a clogged filter, fuel line, or bad pump.

starting fluid is a thing of the past. dont use it. this car doesnt have a carb, its a throttle body/ electronic fuel injection system. you most likely have a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator issue. test the fuel pressure, should be anywheres from 35-50 psi

Remove the air intake from the air filter container to the throttle body. Use only a quick shot of starting fluid. Can you hear the fuel pump run? Power cycling the key should get fuel flowing and is safer than starting fluid.

No fuel

It could possibly be a faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor. If the computer doesn't see that the crankshaft is spinning, it won't activate the fuel pump.

Where do I spray the starter fluid (air intake?) for Chrysler Silhouette. Ran out of gas and it seems carburetor needs starter fluid to kick it..not sure where air intake is locater.. or where to open carb...

there is a large tube that goes to your throttle body (you do not have a carb), remove it and spray there-be careful, starter fluid is highly explosive, spray 2 or 3 short bursts into the top of the throttle body opening, and install the tube (you don't have to tighten the clamp). You may have to repeat this a few times, if you can only get the car to run for a few seconds 3 or 4 times, and it will not run on it's own, you have a fuel delivery problem, and no amount of starter fluid is going to fix it.

1966 Mustang I6 starting problem

Sounds like the fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a stuck needle and seat in the carburator.

Hard starting or will not start every time

With the vehicle turned off: spray some starter fluid into your intake. You'll have to take off the hose from your air filter assembly to do this. After you spray some starter fluid reinstall the hose to your intake. And try to start your vehicle. If it starts every time you do this and runs without issues. Then you could have a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is going out.
