Question about 2003 Land Rover Discovery

How to I drain my radiator fluid in order to install new upper and lower hoses on it. I have a 2003 land rover discovery. Plus, I have to replace the thermostat as well. any advice?

    do you get to this from under the truck or inside. I look under and could not find anything there. Need help

Remove the lower skid plate under the radiator, it should have a drain in one of the tanks...

    there should be a splash sheild under the vehicle, under the rad., behind the front bumper cover... it may be attached there... and probably several fastener at the back attached to the lower crossmember. sometimes even attached to the wheel opening cover in front of thw wheels.... you should see a drain valve in the radiator once you gain access.. if no, remove the lower hose... but it'll be a gusher

Follow the top radiator hose back to the thermostat housing remove top of housing to replace it. Sometimes you have to rap on the side of the housing preferably a rubber mallet or plastic hammer. to free it up
To bleed air leave the expansion tank cap off let the engine run until thermostat opens to fulll operating teperature.

HI. Ok, This vehicle is equipped with an upper and lower set of ball joints. The prices are as follows:

Parts price will be $40.00 for the upper set
The labor is set to $195.00 for the upper replacement procedure.

Parts price for the lower ball set will be $40.00.
The labor price for the lower replacement procedure will be $165.00

NOTE_ Land Rover recommends to replace the upper and lower, in this situation. Total cost, if you chose to replace the upper and lower ball sets, will be $80.00 for the parts, and $360.00 on the labor.

Overheating boiling over, cant find therm stat location on discovery model


Find where the Upper Radiator hose connects to the block. That is usually where you find the Thermastat. 2 to 3 bolts hold the cover in place. You need new Therma stat, a new seal, and the tools to remove and install the part.

Wet floor in 2004 discovery


Look below the dashboard near the fan blower, see if you can find something which looks like a radiator. You will find the drain hose and pipe near it. Its easy once you locate it
