Question about Chrysler Sebring

1 Answer

I have a 1996 chrysler sebring jx (convertible) and sometimes when i am driving it will cut out/stall either when i am bearly moving or just crusing about 40mph. But when it aint cutting out or stalling it runs like a champ/brand new. I have replaced the spark plugs, air-filter, serphitine belt, and the oil/gasoline. And it still does the same thing, I was told that it could be the the MAP/SENSOR, THROTLE POSITION/SENSOR, CRANK/SENSOR, AND THE OXYGEN/SENSOR. But they are all alot of money, so i was just wanting to know what any of you guys think it might possibly be. THANKS for any help, it will be appriciated.

Broke the only key to sebring jx convertible, can't open the trunk, and water damaged the wiring tothe trunk pop button in the console, how can I get inthe trunk?

The easy way is to remove the pop trunk switch and locate a good area or the wiring to the pop trunk and cut it then touch the two wires together, thats the easy way water may damage the switch but wont damage all the wiring just find a good peice and cut and touch them together and trunk will pop open as long as the trunk release motor works, i would start there. another way would be to go to the dealer and give them the vin # and they will cut you a key.

the last thing to do if all fails is to have a lock smith make a key. hope this helps.

You may have a bad map sensor or idle control sensor. You may need to adjust the idle itself.

I have a 1996 chryster Sebring Convertible jxi 2.5L 6cy startes and runs ok but when u go to drive sometime it goes and sometimes it dies

I have a car just like yours. My car use to do the same thing. When I checked for a code, it showed nothing. I would be driving down the road, sometimes 50-60, and it would just cut off. I bought a MAP sensor and that fixed my problem. Hope that helps.

Look at spending around 200-400 dollars to replace all the lines, and possibly calipers or wheel cylinders if the bleeder screws are rusted out also.
