Question about 2002 Lexus RX 300

Open Question

On 2002 RX 300, there is about a 10 sec sound like a motor running at high speed when I first turn on the car that appears to be coming from the CD player in the glove box. What I want to do is pull the fuze for the CD player and see if the noise goes away. What fuze do I pull? RAD 1 fuze? If you know what may be causing the short motor whining sound that is really what I'm after. Could it be a pump that clears water from the a/c? Regards Ray

P0507 code idle speed is high than expected. Partially stuck open thermostat can make the computer think that the car is cold and command a higher idle speed. A small vacuum leak will also raise the idle speed. Throttle plate not fully closed cause this condition. Once problem is solved then clearing codes will leave computer monitors at incomplete which will still fail state inspection by driving the car over several days with a fuel tank between 15%-85% will allow them to run to completion. Ask your state inspector how many monitors need to run to completion the hardest ones to complete are EVAP, SEC.AIR, CAT.

In my 1999 Rx300, first i have click sound below glove box and now my HVAC fan runs only high speed.? I can lower it at all? What to do?

I would suggest replacing your blower motor resistor bock. Speed 123 go through a resistor to limit the current flow throught the motor therefore limiting motor speed. High speed bypasses the resistor block which is why the blower would only work on high.

Heater fan only runs on high speed not the middle settings

Follow the 2 wires back from the motor under the dash. The speed controller is the fault. It's default when it fails will allow for high speed operation only. The unit that the 2 wires come from is the controller. Replace that unit.

My 2002 ford E 250 econoline van's problem, the blower motor speed when turned to any speed does not work. I have no heat until the motor has been running for an hour or so in the winter. When the blower...

The blower motor resistor is what controls the speeds of the blower motor. It is under the battery tray.. you have to remove it to see the resistor, and there is 1 bolt holding it to the truck, with a (2 wire) plug going to it.

2002 town & country blower motor will not

In order to achieve different speeds for the fan motor, there is a bank of resistors that reduce the voltage depending on what speed is selected. This is basicaly the same design for all cars on the road. The fail mode causes the full voltage to bypass the resistor bank so the fan runs at high speed (maybe even higher than your normal high setting). On most newer vehicles, including your '02 T&C, to help keep the resistors cool, they are mounted to a heatsink and then that assembly is mounted in a hole in the A/C ductwork just below or behind the glovebox. My '02 T&C has the 3 zone auto temp control and it had a fancier resistor block, but the function is the same. You should be able to get the cheaper one for <$25 at a parts store.

Heater fan only blows air in the highest "on" position

Well it sounds like the blower motor relay is out you might also need a blower motor if it is using to much juice on high speed then the blower motor is probabley about to go out and with the noise you are describing it sounds like a bearing in the blower motor is about to go out so probabley should change the blower motor and the blower motor relay.

Aircondition fan motor changed running ok but little air through vents

Does it still sound like its on high? If so you could have your vents blocked/restricted or your blower is not blowing on high speed. Usually a blower resistor if not blowing at max or not blowing at all speeds
