Question about 1999 Chevrolet Suburban
99 suburban 5.7 c1500 location of camshaft sensor
It's in the distributor. There is 2 connectors on the outside of the distributor to it. Make sure they are both connected before replacing parts. The gear on the distributor wears out too.

I was dealing with the problem just last week. My suburban threw a code. After checking it out. The problem was the camshaft position sensor. I loosened up the distributer and re-timed it and tightened it all up. Then my CEL went away.
