You can but dont push it in all the way it might let oil out of the system.Do it slowly.
Try not to breath the gas.Check the high side also after the low side. It could still contain some pressure so be careful. Also safety glasses are a good idea.
This should be done by a person with a licence to contain the gas. I have to tell you this so I dont catch trouble.
I hope this helps you.

Ac not working

The first thing to do is check the charge in the AC system with a set of AC pressure gauges that attach to the charging port, if the pressure is low or non existent then you have a low charge and this means you have a leak in the AC system. The leak must be found and repaired and then the system evacuated and recharged with the correct level of refrigerant

2001 eclipse air conditioner please give me all problems and fixes why does not cool at higher outside temps freon is full

either the pump is only producing low pressure or the expansion valve is faulty ,you will need a special machine to sort it out as Ac systems contain dangerous gas and its an offence to let this gas into the atmosphere ,you need the machine to test the pressure and then empty the gas for work on the system and this should only be atempted by a qualified engineer

Is the low pressure side of 92 F-150 on the condenser or near the compressor.

LOW PRESSURE SIDE IS THE SUCTION CHARGE SIDE WILL BE FROM AC COMPRESSOR REFRIGERANT LINE TO THE ACCUMULATOR OR DRIER TO THE EVAPORATOR IN THE FIRE WALL THE AC COMPRESSOR LINE TO THE CONDENSOR IS THE HIGH PRESSURE SIDE YOUR DISCHARGE SIDE. DONT DONT TRY CHARGING AC SYSTEM AT THE HIGH PRESSURE SIDE. CHARGE AT THE LOW PRESSURE SIDE.

2001 chev tahoe has no power at a/c clutch checked fuses, relay, high pressure switch, low pressure switch and has 100 lbs of pressure on low side port

IF YOU HAVE 100 PSI ON LOW SIDE.YOU HAVE A EXCESSIVE AIR AND MOISTURE IN THE SYSTEM.YOU HAVE TO HAVE SYSTEM DISCHARGED AT AC SHOP OR DEALERSHIP.YOU HAVE TO REPLACE ACCUMULATOR OR RECEIVER DRIER.HAVE SYSTEM EVACUATE.THEN RECHARGED.SEE YOUR AC IS NOT TO COME ON LONG AS YOUR LOW SIDE TO HIGH.YOUR LOW PRESSURE SWITCH. IS NOT GOING TO CLOSE CIRCUIT TO TURN ON COMPRESSOR.UNTIL PRESSURE DROP AT A CERTAIN LOW PRESSURE.

I have a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse and the a/c light started flashing and it only blows hot air. I already put some more air coolant and it still does not work.

scan it.it could be AC clutch relay -AC refrigerant pressure sensor low input - AC refrigerant pressure sensor high input.

A c not cold specs for freon pressure

A/C work is very dangerous if you really do not know what your doing.
But a lot of things can make it not work properly. condenser fan not running all the time vacuum leak going to control panel orifice valve malfunctioning ECT.
