Left headlight wont go up

check the rods and power to the light motor . The little bushes on the arms wear out and the arms can lock or fall off and jam the motor crank.

1985 corvette headlight close but wont open

I did mine about 3 year ago, C4 headlights are electric motor driven. Clean the contacts, if they are clean, you will have to replace the gears, it's really not hard, just be sure to clean everything as you re- assemble the motor drive. I used synthetic grease. The drive can be unscrewed from the housing and then changing the gears is easy. Most gear sets have directions with them. I got mine from Corvette Central. (about 50 for the set, replace both gears) Be sure to remove any debris.

You will need to rebuild the headlight motors. You can buy the headlight motor rebuild kits with full instructions from ZIPS.com or any of the online Corvette restoration parts suppliers.

My 89 vette's headlights only open half-way. Is it a gear/bushing problem or a vacuum problem?

There are three round plastic pellets that wear out and turn to powder causing the headlight gearbox to malfunction. They cost about 4 dollars per side, pretty easy fix if you take your time. I just replaced them in my 89 vette. Of course I bought the best brass gear thinking I needed them. The plastic gear was still in great shape, don't waste your money, you don't need the brass gear, They cost $58.00 each. All you need is the pellets, $4.00 on ebay. There is no vacuum on the headlight system

How do I replace or repair the actuator Headlight motor of a 1988 Corvette

There is a silicone gel in the headlight system that acts as a drive between 2 gears. The fix is very inexpensive but the labor is pretty intense. almost all corvette supply places sell pellets that replace the gel which has more then likely dried out over the years. The only reason I can think of is the gel is used in case the headlight is frozen up or down the gears won't strip. On the headlight assembly you'll see a round area about 2 inches across held on by 3 screws. When you remove the cover you'll seee a gear inside. When you pull the gear out you'll see the area where the gel used to be. There will probably be dried up powder inside. You'll see 3 indentions in the back side of the gear where you place the 3 pellets. Keep one headlight assembled so you can see how to put it back together. I actually bought the pellets from a guy on ebay for less the $10.00. I had to sand the pellets down a little to get them to fit into the gear but it actually worked great

Corvette Headlight Motor Problem

Corvettes have a gear box on that motor. It has plastic gears in it. You probably have a gear stripped in that gear box, that lets the motor spin free. You can get repair parts to repair it, or replace the whole motor and gear box. Its an easy fix if your handy. Read all the instructions before you start.

02 Boxster headlights wont turn on

the light fault sound like the switch itself, the clicking heard will be the relay once a good connection is made at the switch. If the engine management light has come on it will have an emmisions related fault and will need further attention, this is not related to the service schedule

1987 corvette, headlight goes down and motor continue to run

Check the sensors that tell the relay to shut off when the lights close down all the way. This is a fairly common problem especially if this has never been replaced before.
