2000 jeep cherokee laredo insturment gauge cluster

2000 jeep cherokee laredo insturment gauges (cluster) power windows a/c not working. I can unplug the passenger side boot connector in door jam and the above works except no power on that side of course so im not sure where the problem/which wire/short is within this. I also can dissconnect the battery for about 5-10 min (w/o having to dissconect boot connector in door) clears problems for only about 2 days though. Have replaced PCM yea a couple $1000 later for dealer and this problem started again w/in a few months, also replaced ignition. i hear there is a short in one of the wires in the boot connector, not sure which one. Can some one please help.

Why all gauges quit working on 2000 jeep grand cherokee

Unfortunately you are not alone on this one and having a few friends with Jeeps this gets interesting. The shortest answer I've seen is remove the Negative Cable from the Battery for a few minutes to allow the voltage to fall in the system. Just pulling it off and putting it back on won't work just like home electronics power is stored for a few minutes in the system. This has worked to reset the system for some and off you go. If that is not the case you will be heading deep into a lot of diagnostic work and in some cases replace the ECM (Engine Control Module) which is about $1,000.00 last time I got near a Jeep so don't be bashful about checking everything.

2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo odometer turns off check gauges light, brake light, abs light, turn on and the motor stays running

My guess would be a short or bad connection inside the cluster. Some Chrysler products have problems with connections between the dash and body computer.

Sometimes my gas gage works on my 1996 jeep cherokee laredo and most of the time it doesn't. I also can not roll up the back window on the passenger side. Help Please

The master switch is the most likely cause for the window problem, and the fuel gauge is most likely the fuel sending unit in the fuel tank

the 1st thing that needs to be done is have a mechanical oil pressure test gauge hooked up to confirm the actual reading, the electronic gauge many times is incorrect.

Check engine, gauge and fuel light on

I'd guess that the cluster died. Cheapest fix is a used one from a salvage yard. You want a yard that'll also install it, that way you'll know it works when they put it in.
