Question about Pontiac Sunfire

Gas tank door

Just bought a used 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, mint condition (only 20,000 miles!). First time I went to get gas the door to the tank wouldn't open....couldn't find a release button anyway so my friend pushed in to see if it was some type of spring mechanism...didn't work. A little wiggling eventually got it open; got my gas, closed the door and opened it right away to make sure it was OK...opened fine. Next day my husband went to see if it would open and it is "stuck" again. Don't have an owners manual...anyone hear of this problem before?

Where is the purge solenoid on a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

purge solinoids are under hood vent solinoids are by the charcoal tank under the car by gas tank. is this an emissions related repair? 99% its the vent valve as they are open to the envirnment and tend to corrode and malfunction purge under hood will be attached by hose that usualy has green cap inline on it. get the part and match what you are looking at

I ave a 994 pontiac, bonnieville. about a week

there is probably a dead spot in the fuel pump, and when it is hot and you shut off the car it will not run.Next time the car does not start, bang on the gas tank with a piece of wood or spray some starter fuel in the throttle body. if it starts,it is a fuel problem.
use a spark tester to see if there is spark as well.ignition modules and coil packs are common on those cars,as well as the EGR valve getting stuck.that will cause the car to idle ok but die out as soon as 2500 rpm is reached.

2004 Pontiac Bonneville Check Engine Light

do you fill the gas tank with the key on?

Try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour an then reconnect and drive for 10 miles. It may run rough for this period. This will clear codes from memory.

My 95 Pontiac Bonneville is not getting gas I've checked the fuel pump fuse, the fuel pump relay under the passenger side and replaced the fuel filter. Is there anything else that could cause the gas not...

What you need to do is have an assistant turn the key on (not try to start, just turn the key on) while you have the gas cap removed and your ear down by the gas tank fill tube. When they turn the key on you should hear a whirl only for 3-7 seconds. If you hear nothing more than likely you will need to change your fuel pump. Attempt this test on several tries at different times several hours apart before you **** your tank out to give it ample time to relieve any fuel pressure that may be built up thus causing your pump not to respond. BUT, if you are not getting any fuel you are not getting any pressure built up so it should be making some sound. How many miles do you have on this vehicle? 9 times out of 10, sorry to say, you'll be replacing the fuel pump. It sounds like to me that you have thourouly checked every other possible thing. Good luck my friend. Let us know how you come out.

2000 Pontiac Bonneville...gas fumes = Feul leak?

You know where you insert the Gas Nozzle to Fill it up? That is the Filler Neck and it can Develop Holes that will release Gas Fumes.
