Question about 1994 Plymouth Voyager

1 Answer

I have a 1994 plymouth voyager Check engine light

I have a 1994 plymouth voyager 3.3 150000 miles and would like to know if the orignal manual can be downloaded somewhere? The Check engine light comes on randomly after driving several minutes, sometimes not at all. But it runs fine. It has been doing this for some time. I would like to know what this indicator could possibly mean ? It does worry me .

The "check engine" light on the older models don't tell you things like "change oil, or check oil, or many other tings talking cars do today.

It could mean anything from one cylinder isn't firing well, (and that itself could be a plug, or broken wire), or it could mean that your low on coolant, or any number of things.

The best thing to do is take your vehicle to the dealer and ask the to run a computer code check..SOME garages charge a nominal fee, and some don't charge at all.

Depending on hw much you value your vehicle will depend on what you do. Checking the warning light now could save you big bucks later, or if you aren't concerned if the vehicle quits on you unexpectedly just ignore it. That's the choices, as limited as they are.

I hope this helps you some.

1994 Plymouth Voyager 3.3 The "Check Engine Light" comes on after driving 6 miles on open highway.

Take to local auto parts store and they will usually run codes for free and from there you can find the most likely source of the problem area.

How Do i check my ecm on my 1994 plymouth voyager with a 2.5?

You have OBD1 which is the diagnostic used prior to 1996. In your car you have to read the trouble codes stored in the computer. This done by counting the flashes and pauses of the check engine light. Turn the ignition on then off three times then leave it on. The check engine light will begin to flash i.e on---on-on. that would be a 12. You can google obd1 for a list of codes and more detail on how to read them. Obd2 is a vast improvement

Get those check engine light codes read. They should give a big clue that could save lots of time. Otherwise we are just sitting here guessing. The list is very long for things that can cause those symptoms.

How many miles are on your van? If it is alot of miles your trouble is likely engine wear, but if the miles are not that high or you know the van has been serviced like it should be than maybe replacing the oil pump will help the problem. Backing up now, the first thing to do is check the actual oil pressure with a known good manual gauge, not the light in the dash.

1999 plynouth grand voyager was coding egr replace

just because the check engine light is back on, it doesn't necessarily mean it is for the same problem. it could be, but would need to pull codes again to find out what its for. literally hundreds of different codes could turn on check engine light. also, was original code for "insufficient egr flow" or "excessive egr flow"? it makes a difference.
