There are two one way check valves on the fuel system of you truck one at the pickup inside the fuel tank and the other is in the fuel line by the manifold. the check valve in the fuel line by the manifold is allowing gas when shut off to run back away from the fuel manifold. if you replace that check valve it will maintain the pressure into the injectors and you will not have to use the starting fluid.

The PCV hose where it attaches to the manifold is notorious for rotting and creating a massive vacuum leak...i believe it is on the backside whether u have a 4.6 or a 5.4L V-8 near the idle air control motor... which is also bad about binding up... and even though they say the throttle opening is "self" cleaning... it can't hurt so wipe it out with a cloth soaked in chemtool

93 subaru imprez.when warms up it starts

Sounds like it's getting too much fuel because is still in cold start mode by computer. This is because of a faulty heat sensor. Once the heat sensor tells the computer it's warm, it runs fine, IF the sensor is working. If not, the computer doesn't know any better than to keep it in cold start mode. I hope this makes sense to you.

Clean / replace air filter.

Top off ATF to MAX level.

1991 Ford F-350 runs rough at cold start, dies if gas peddle depressed?

because the combustion inside the engine is going wrong the quantity of air getting inside is not the needed quantity maybe less than or more in cold will cause such problem once the engine warm up than the engine temperature is up you will not find this problem because the point of firing will be near

4 cyl Engine starts and idles ok...give it throttle and it dies

I need to get a clear mental picture of what exactly is happening.

With this said, you stated that the car "runs fine" until warmed up.

Q: When you start the car when cold it idles fine?
Q: If you allow the car to idle until "fully" warmed does the car stall?
Q: As the car begins to warm up, Does the RPM fluctuate abnormally?
Q: Does the car Only stall when you press on the gas pedal or does it stall just sitting and idling in addition to pressing the gas pedal?
Q: If you can drive it while cold does the car stall during acceleration when warm or only at Stop Signs / Lights?
Q: If you wait 20min or so, can you start the car again?
Q: How many miles are on the car?
