Diesel loss of power

check and change the fuel filters including the water filter.. If you are using a bio diesel then don't. Check and bleed any air out of the pump and lines. check that the air valve on top of the tank is clean and allowing the tank to vent and not get a vacuum. Check for a moss like substance in the tank as it will seriously affect the diesel and injectors. Basically It sounds as if the pump is starving for fuel from a blockage or air in the system.

1998 dodge ram 1500 loss of engine power, slight ticking when accelerating, transmission shifting at odd times. check engine blinks on and off on occasion.

Without a code to work with i know those trucks had a problem with the t.p.s. sensor . This will also cause erratic shifting of the transmission
