It is not a chime. When I use my cylinder remote to lock the car the horn makes one loud honk, when I unlock it it makes two loud honks.

I do not want to turn off the remote entry, I just want to eliminate the horn honking when I lock or unlock the doors?

  • jeff_laughli Sep 12, 2009

Will this completely disable my horn?

Under the dash panel on drivers side up by fuse block you will see the chime. you can pull this out. Or if you have a fuse for it that is not connected to anything else, then you can pull it.

Car arming. There should be a switch under your counsole or dash to disarm this. Otherwise look for a fuse. The box itself is connected by firewall in wireharness attached next to computer.

Then you will have to pull the wires attached to horn. Then black and white are for the horn itself. The horn will be not to far from radiator and fender wall on drivers side.

If you unplug the wires from the alarm to horn and not horn to horn. There should be four wires attached to your horn.

This way your horn will still work but the door remote won't make a sound

The door ajar beeping comes on anytime a door is open, whether or not a key is in the ignition.

The light and the beeping are two differant things. Headlight switch on? Or the switch were the key gos may think the key is still in the switch.
