Question about 2006 Jeep Liberty
I have a 2002 Toyota Camry and my battery light just came on and its very hard to steer the car. As soon as the light came on, the steering instantly became hard. The car runs fine otherwise.
Any ideas of what this might be? And will it be expensive or somewhat cheap to fix?
If this is a 3.0 liter engine there are 3 drive belts one is for the air condition, one is for the alternator, and the last one is for the power steering. So if the alternator belt has broken first it would get caught up in the power steering belt and make that belt jump off the pump pulley. If this is a 2.4 liter engine then there is only 1 belt that runs everything from the a/c, to the alternator and power steering. So i would check to see if any of the belts are missing or broke,if so make sure there is no locked up pulleys that could have broke the belt or cause it to jump off .Belts are not very expensive to replace .P.s if this is the three liter engine it will not overheat if these belts came off due to the water pump being run by the camshaft belt and cooled by the electric fan I hope this answerd your question :)
