Brake temps increase as the weight increases.(hauling/towing). or the use of ceramic pads with standard disc, will also cause increased brake temps. if it did not come on the truck dont put them on unless you are prepared to replace rotor as well.

Hi
Well, I really think you may find the problem only between two things: Caliper, pads or brake shoes, Beacuse I guess If you bought new drums you bought new shoes too didn't you? But if you're sure it is in front disk, then, you just have to check, you got the right caliper and pads and check the caliper is well adjusted and installed I hope this helps good luck!

I have a 98 dodge durango 4wheel drive 5.2 v8.. breaks are getting hot and wearing out the rear pads. rear have drum front have disk. all 4wheels are getting hot. new everything all the way around.pads,...

check the abs fuse to see if it as blown they system may just be putting more pressure on different parts at differnt times because it is not getting proper control, also if the breaks are new you might consider using a dab of break cement on the back side of the pads and shoes to allow for proper release from the drums/rotors.

My car wheel is getting hot what is the reason?

A dragging brake shoe or pad is the usual cause of this symptom. Inspect the brake for contact with the rotor or drum. If a drum brake, back off the self adjuster. If a disk brake, check to see if the caliper piston will retract. You can use a small screwdriver between the rotor and the rear pad to gently pry the pad back. If ir is difficult to pry back, replace the brake caliper and bleed the brake line. If you have more questions or need further instructions, please let us know.

My rear drub wont go back on after replacing pads

Loosen the rear emergency brake cable. This will alow you more travel to compress the pads onto the rotor.

Back brake

On drum brakes there is a pad adjustment wheel, use it to back the pads off far enough from the drum that the edge of the drum clears the pads
