Question about 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab
Tranny felt like it went into neutral on my way home from work. Bearly got home. It kept falling in and out of gear. Drop the pan and changed the filter and 5 quarts. Responded well going into reverse and drive but it won't shift into 3rd gear.

If the truck feels like it is taking off in second gear and will not shift into third then the transmission may be in fail safe or limp in mode. This is generally due to an electrical or control failure in the system. If it is slipping in first and not shifting into third or overdrive then you would have an internal issue. Either way, you are going to need professional diagnosis. If servicing has not helped then I would guess you need professional help on this one.
Sorry and good luck.
