Question about 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
When I put the key in the ignition and turn it, sometimes nothing happens, the radio turns on so I know it's not the battery, but the engine will not turn over. Than turn the key back try it again and again than all of a sudden it will start. What may be the problem, is it a sign the starter is going out, or is there a selanoid between the key and starter that may be going out?
Most likely there is a problem with the starter. The solenoid is part of the starter assembly.
