Question about 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera
I have the same problem and the garage thinks it is the fuel pomp and a new one has been ordered to "fix" the problem.
I also think it might be the alarm, but have no idea to reset it...any suggestions?
At start up, it also produces a lot of white/blue smoke, which they claim has to do with the "separator" and now they will add a second one, which will require for the engine to be taken out, add the separator and reinstall the engine...
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Start by squirting a little fuel into the throttle body and then crank it and see if it fires up .. if so its a fuel problem if not its going to be something in the electrical. holler if you need more thanks Jerry

If you mean the small lower lip spoiler, remove the screws from the inside edge near wheel (1 small phillips screw each side) then tug spoiler fromone end to release plastic lugs that locate spoiler into front p.u.

Your best bet is adding voltage through the cigarette lighter. Go down to radio shack and buy a cigarette plug. Wire it up to a small 12 volt battery. This should give enough juice to pop the bonnet.

If you don't have a Porsche dealer near you, check eBay for a Nav manual. Your car should have come with one though. Good luck!
