Are you sure you have plug wires on correctly? Better double check them.

Running on two cylinders

The removal of # 3 & # 4 tells you those cylinders are
contributing the most ,as removing the wire causes the motor
to stop
My guess is that the other cyl #1 & #2 are not firing at all, if there
is no change

If you had a V6 or V8 it would continue to run,not so with only
4 cylinder

Learn or study the ignition system & replace any ignition control
module that fires the first two cylinders

Get an HEI Test Spark Plug & put the plug wire to that & ground it
& see if you get spark, check all the plug wires one at a time.

Don't forget timing belts that are worn & slip, battery voltage, alternator output & A/C Ripple coming out of it

I would check compression or better yet, do a cylinder leak down test.
Could be you have worn valves in #1 & #2 thus little spark
Check fuel pressure at motor with a gauge

Im thinking of trying to change all the spark plugs and leads myself.would i need to get a new casket for the cover?also,is there any other things i should watch out for ?

as for the valve cover gaskets, if no oil leaks there ok. as for the plug wires, when replacing. do one wire at a time as not to get them on the wrong cylinders. dont forget to make sure gap is right on plugs before putting them in. good-day !

I have a 1989 dodge spirit and i put a new distributor cap, new spark plugs, new wires, reconditioned the head and put new gaskets in. car was running fine until they put to much oil in the car and now...

Is there any chance that the plug wires were not installed in the proper firing order?
What am I saying... of course there is... I have done it myself. I would check that first... as overfilling the oil by a small amount should only stress your seal and gaskets... If a large overfill is left for a long period of time it could foam up whenit comes in contact with the piston/fork/blade assemblies causing the oil pump to cavitate thus starving an overfilled engine of oil.

But I think the problem with your car may be more than an oil issue... Them cars are usually bullet proof...

My van had over heated, I let it cool down, started it again, and it would not idle correctly and I had no power. I put new spark plugs in, new wires, new distributor cap and new rotor, still no power to...

When engine cold, remove radiator gasket, fill with water and start the car with the radiator cap off, if the water is blowing out from the radiator, then you have a blown head gasket or bent head. If the water doesn't move inside the radiator if it's still then your head gasket and head are fine. I asume that you didn't move the distributor to change the rotor and cap so there is no chance to left the spark timing a little delayed. Remove the new spark plugs one by one and look for a sign of rust, that could mean that cylinder is getting water from the head. (Only if it didn't pass the radiator test).

I hooked up an amp for my stereo everything running fine till my fuse blew i put new one in on the main power line from battery to amp stereo works fine but now my valves miss fireing and heads winding bad...

Your amp as nothing to do with your car runnig bad. Your engine has a problem. It's miss fireing may be do to bad coil or even spark plugs or spark wires

My car wont start after replacing head gaskets.

Have you cleaned the spark plugs? they will surely be filthy after a headgasket failure... maybe even cracked by the water going on the hot plug... I recommend changing the plugs before trying anything else.

78 corvette that has not been started in 3

1.) put aside about $50 that you are ging to spend... period
2.) drain the oil and remove the old oil filter
3.) install a new oil filter, add new 30W oil
4.) remove all 8 spark plug wire from the 8 spark plugs
5.) remove the 8 spark plugs
6.) spray about 5 seconds of WD40 into each of 8 spark plug holes
7.) spray the remainder of the can into each of the 2 valve covers thru the EGR holes (pull out the EGR valve first)
8.) making certain that you have a full battery charge, turn the starter switch to START for about 5 seconds... if your engine turns then your internals are not frozen... that's good
9.) open another can of WD40 and spray equal amounts into ecah of 8 spark plug holes a second time
10.) turn the start switch on for another 5 seconds and listen for strange sounds... by the way without the spark plugs the engine will rotate more quickly than you normally expect... not a problem because as it turns it is lubricating your internal parts
11.) wait a minute and then turn it on for for about 10-20 seconds while listening for scraping or knocking sounds... if none heard then you are all lubed up and ready to reinstall the spark plugs.
Install new plugs or sandpaper the old with the correct gap ( I believe .035")
12.) if you didn't mark the plug wires not a problem... Google '78 Chevy Distributor Firing Order to find terminal #1 on the distributor cap... usually about the 1 o'clock position
13.) install #1 wire to #1 sparkplug... the driver's side front closest to the radiator
14.) the distributor rotates like a clock (clockwise) and the numbers on the clock starting at #1 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.... this is the firing order in a clockwise direction
15.) take the next plug wire #8 and connect it to #8 spark plug
Note: the spark plug numbers are cast into the top of the intake manifold for easier identification
16.) conect the remaining wires to their respective plugs
17.) make certain that you have a full battery charge, some gas in the tank (gas evaporates over 3 years) and a full radiator.
18.) Turn the starter switch and listen for the engine to start
19.) If it doesn't start the first time, try again and wait for the gas to reach the carburetor.... try again
20.) if it still doesn't start spray some engine strating fluid into the carbuetor throat and try again... it should start
21.) if it starts but doesn't keep running then repeat step 20. unitl the gas reaches the carburetor and continues to run on its own...!
