Question about 2000 Jeep Wrangler

2000 Jeep Wrangler 6 cyl. Just stopped yesterday and when it cooled off it started again...I drove this morning and after around 8 miles it was like soeone just turned it off..stopped would not re-start.

Most common failure(s) associated with your symptoms are either a failed crank position sensor or a bad fuel pump. Both need to be tested before buying anything as both are a bit expensive to be changing for no reason. Test procedures are outlined in either haynes or chiltons vehicle specific manuals (about $20)

if you just filled up i might be dirty fuel go get some fuel injector cleaner stp is good, lucas is better dump in your tank and cross your fingers you might have to start up a couple times.

have u ck out the ignition switch [not the key & tumblers],, or the neutral safety switch to see if u have power ,,also seen broken wire at solenoid on starter too,,hope it helped,,

My 2000 ford contour just yesterday started getting sluggish, eas having problems getting past 50 miles per hour.like when you pull something with your truck up hill.. then today we drove it to town this...


First try changing the fuel filter. It is extremely easy and costs about 12 dollars at Wal-mart. If that doesn't work than try changing the fuel pump itself. Little more costly but still pretty simple to do.

2004 jeep wrangler 2.4 litre 4 cylinder


check the ground wirea at the dipstick tube,remove them all,and bend the ends of the wire,look for weak or broken wires, i bought several 4 cyl jeep that had problems at shift, fall on their face < after the engine settled back in to place,so wires made contact> just a thot. the ground wires are small the engine moves,when shifting.
