Question about 1985 Chevrolet Corvette
Located on intanke manifold. What are you doing?
Typically. there is a build up in the exhaust cross over port that is centered front to back and passes directly under the choke and carb. Be sure the valve at the end of the right (usually) exhaust manifold, is free and working.
The EGR valve is subject to problems from exhaust particles, that sometimes jamb it open.

The EGR is located under the intake plenum just about between the #4, #, #5 and #6 intake runners . It is real difficult to get to. You have to remove all the upper intake runners and if you do be sure get new gaskets as the old one's will rip or leak. The bolts sgould be torqued as well.
