Question about 1992 Chevrolet C1500

No lights/power To heater/ac control w Recirculation button 92 Chevy 1500 The heater quit blowing warm air for a couple of days and then lost all power to the heat/ac control panel have the same problem....92 k1500 with 350. No lights on to the unit in the dash. Checked the fuses and none are blown and also checked with circuit tester, and have power to 3 or 4 wires, but no lights. Got a used one from a u pull. Harness matched up, but no joy on the power with it too. Don?t know if it was toast as well, or if just not compatable. Is there a way to test the unit before I try to get another one, or any info on which pins needs to have power on the harness or even which connectors to bridge just to get an on/off switch for a fan setting, any fan setting, and the defroster? Can i bridge 2 of the contacts somehow to test and make sure the wiring is working and the power is working etc? I don?t want to accidentally fry wiring just doing it blind. I can deal with the cold, but having to pull over and scrape the inside of the windshield due to breathing in the cab sucks

The problem with no lights and power to the ac and heater control is the ground.remove the plug and on the plug is numbers find number 8 and peel back the insuation and run a wire from there to a KNOWN ground and it will work like new.the wire is BLACK there is 2 black wires it is not the one next to the red that is hot all the time.

that didn't work for me my ground is okay and it seemed like it just wouldn't come on when I start it so I thought it was the ignition wire and that's good too I got another unit from a junk truck and it doesn't work either but it will randomly come back on I have tested all of the wires and they seem to be okay do you have a spec picture that i can see

I have exact same problem did you find an answer? Where can I get a wiring diagram? That's what I was thinking about doing or just running another 12 v line with switch straight to blower motor. Any help out there.

I have power going to my heater control, but the "digital" part works when it wants to. Maybe a loose connection in the wiring harness?

SOURCE: Heater/AC control with no power

YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR FUSES! EVEN IF IT DOESN'T LOOK BURNT RE-PLACE IT ANYWAY!
IF THAT DOESNT SOLVE IT YOUR GOING TO NEED TO CHECK THE BLOWER MOTOR UNDER THE HOOD TO THE PASS SIDE OF THE FIREWALL- MAKE SURE IT IS PROPERLY GROUNDED & pluged IN.. IF ALL ELSE FAIL'S= RE-PLACE BLOWER MOTOR...

Blowing cold air

I had the same problem that I just fix by flushing the heater core out with a hose.   take the two hoses off the fire wall and put the water to it and let flush.  my heater is putting out 150 dg. F  of hot air.   I'm so excited!  i will stay warm now.
