Question about 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
Brought the car in for service , I was told they suspected some of the fuel injectors not functioning and/ or malfunctioning. They mentioned that the pressure was low at the injectors, 4 to 8.
I'm not sure what they mean by this. Is it fuel pressure? I thought that the injectors where measured by resistance and had a resistance range , which would indicate normal or non functioning of the injector.
Not sure what to do.
The engine idles erractically as it warms up. The plugs and wires are good.
Purchase a fuel pressure tester and screw it on to the fuel rail schrader valve access point turn key on there should be 30 - 40 lbs. of pressure present if not either the fuel pressure regulator is bad ( located near fuel rail) or the fuel pump has become weak.
