Car alarm goes off for no reasoln

I have a 2004 VW Jetta Wagon. Suddenly, for no reason, the anti-theft alarm goes off. It does so repeatedly at times, but other times goes for days without going off.

Check all ground connections (black wires) from alarm module, may be loose. Also pin switches in door jams, under hood and trunk. While alarm is going off have a friend push and wiggle pin switches to see if alarm resets.Common problem

Well to begin these cars dont have any switches or pins a customer can actually get to. first thing to look at is are the interior door lights do they come on or is one of them off? if one of the doors lights dont light that indicates a door latch problem and will need to be replaced.

Anti theft alarm goes off after locking the car, this happens after about a minute after locking on my 2006 vw jetta

This is a clue, not a solution. It happens with my 1998 Jetta GT the same way, same delay. The condition comes and goes intermittently, and seems related to the trunk lock. There's a switch operated by the trunk key lock. I think that's where the problem lies. I can go for days with no problem, but sometimes after I have opened the trunk, when I lock the car the alarm goes off a minute later. Nothing will change it except opening and closing the trunk, but not every time.

Why does the anti theft alarm go off on my 2002 VW Jetta?

IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF REASONS,1-the interior monitoring sensor could be faulty,2-one of the door locks could be faulty,3-the alarm horn or the alarm control unit.suggest having a dealer check for any fault codes,if none they can also check which component was the last thing to set the alarm off using their diagnostic machine...good luck

VW Jetta alarm malfunction

Go to your local junk or scrapyard and pull them yourself. The dealer charges an average of 90-100 dollars an hour. So a lot of the money they quoted you for was probably for labor

Vw jetta wont let me start it

It's an ignition problem. If you keep trying to turn over it will start. It's an anti theft device they installed. The little car with the flashing key. Someone likely tampered with your ignition before for this to happen.

2004 vw jetta won't start and the malfunction light is on. This has happened and we tak it to the shop, they can;t find the problem and then the Jetta starts up. It may be months, weeks of a few days and...

I know that some european cars have an "immobilizer" as part of their anti-theft system that frequently malfunctions in this way. Have it swapped out if your car has such a module. An independent shop may be better for this. There's a relay called "Relay 109" that may cause this also-it's only in Jetta TDIs.Here is part of a post from a dissatisfied owner if you continue having problems:I had TWO of these bought back by Yugowagen and you can do the same-WITHOUT an attorney!! I had the 2 cars for six months and over 12K miles total and was not charged a dime for use!! They gave me the cash I paid in, the value of my trade, and the amount of the payments made, and paid off the loan balance!! Hopefully this number is still good- I've posted it several times on this site and it might have been changed. Contact Jason Tosetti at VWOA at (248) 754-3787. His FAX number is (248) 754-6504. Jason is the VW drone that handled my cases. Also, another dissatisfied VW owner had posted the number of another VW exec somewhere on this site. And yes, the Volvo V40 has been FANTASTIC!! If the S40 sedan and V40 wagon still have the $4K incentive you can get a killer deal!! My car stickered for $29,385 and I got it for $23,500 !! And the car is a much more refined vehicle than the Yugowagen! Good luck!! And, by the way, VW DOES offer loaner cars-the dealer must call the district office to get it authorized which is no problem. I had 5 loaners during my 6 month nightmare.
