Question about 2002 Ford Taurus
A Chilton's manual will show you how to take the door panel off, but here's the overview:
1. Remove screw inside the door handle.
2. Remove the speaker cover (2 screws).
3. Use a trim tool or small flat prybar to pull out the plastic pushpins all the way around the door (about 12). They can be reused once, but after that they tend to fall apart. A box of them is pretty cheap at Fastenal or some car parts / car stereo stores.
4. Lift the door panel up and out, then disconnect the wiring harness.
There's your switch. But if all your power windows aren't working, then the switches are probably fine, and you might want to replace your battery instead.
I had a problem with my 97 Taurus where my passengers could not control their windows, but I could control them from the driver's door controls; and it turns out it was a bad battery. Apparently the Taurus computer tests the battery voltage while the car is being started, and if the voltage is too low the computer begins disabling accessories, like the power windows. (But it doesn't alert you, say, by turing on the Check Engine light.) It also was affecting the remote control (key fob) operation, which is also fixed now.
So apparently if your battery ever falls below 10.0V, the computer freaks out and goes into "limp-home" mode, and begins shutting accessories off.
Check your battery with a voltmeter; if it's below 11.0V in the morning with the engine off, or below 10.0V while cranking the engine, I'd try getting a new battery.
