GM Corsica/Beretta 1988-1996 Repair Guide
The thermostat is located inside a housing on the back of the cylinder head. It is not necessary to remove the radiator hose from the thermostat housing when removing the thermostat.

CAUTION When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

Follow the upper radiator hose back to the engine, where it connects. this should be the theromostat housing. Take out a couple of bolts and your thermostat should be inside it. Make sure you clean the old gasket materail off completely before installing the new one.

Locate the hose coming out of the radiator, trace this back to the end this is where you will locate the thermostat. To check thermostat place in boiling water, if it opens, your problem is not the thermostat.

Cant find thermostat on 93 model fuel injection

Your thermostat is located under a metal housing on the top of the engine. The upper radiator hose connects to this housing. To change the thermostat you basically need to drain the radiator after your engine is cold, disconnect the upper radiator hose from the engine, and remove the bolts from the small housing. replace the thermostat, and clean the surfaces on both sides and replace the gasket too. reinstall the housing, attach the hose, and refill the radiator. start the engine, warm it up and check for leaks, then re check the coolant level after the engine cools off again.

Follow top radiator hose and it will lead directly to thermostat housing. Housing should have 3 bolts on it. Thermostat is under it.

FOR EITHER ENGINE(2.2I4 OR 2.7LV6) THE THERMOSTAT IS LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE ENGINE ABOVE THE TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING, AND NO IT IS NOT VERY HARD TO CHANGE. YOU WILL HOWEVER NEED TO REMOVE THE AIR INTAKE TUBE AND POSSIBLY THE AIR FILTER BOX TO GAIN ACCESS
