Yes there is a special impact socket that has reverse threads on the inside. Put the socket on the lock lug and run it in reverse, The threads dig in to the outside of the lock lug and spin it off.

Cannot remove stripped lug nuts.2006 Impala 3.9 V-6 aluminum alloy wheels.

Forget removing tire from its current position. Taking it off without the right tools is next to impossible and ............

Bang the lug nuts with a nice lump hammer to loosen up any corrosion. Then try heating the nuts with a torch, and with a good pair of vise grips and and an extension for them loosen the nuts to remove the rim.

I cant get my lug nuts off i lost the locked key

Most of the lock nuts are made of normal steel so get a socket that will "just" not fit and drive it on the nut well . Talk with a tyre shop as they use this process on a regular basis to remove tyres for people who have your problem. Use a bar or rattle gun and the nut will come off . Replace all the lock nuts with units that you can get a lock nut adaptor for

Is a lug nut lock the device that lets you remove the last lug nut? We have lost the tool that does this and are not sure how to get another one. AAA does not have it.

well it is called a lock lug nut tool or socket depends if they are factory or aftermarket. they some times have them at the dealer and they do make a lock lug nut removal tool kit that we use to remove them. we do AAAand carry them in our trucks just for this purpose.

they make a tool that goes over the lock and grabs onto it to remove them you can try to hammer a 12 point socket over the lock and see if they come off sometimes it helps to tighten the other lug nuts first

I lost my key to remove lugnut lock. How can i remove it without lock key

You could use an angle grinder to make a flat notch in the top of the lug nut, right across the key pattern. Then use a large impact rated flat blade tip in an impact or other wrench. Depending on the length of the locking lug and how far it sticks out, you could try clamping on vice grip pliers and using a pipe or tube as a breaker bar on them. These tools can be obtained inexpensively from HarborFreight.

Of course, your dealer can provide a new lug nut lock for your car. Just give them your vin number, provided that the same locks that came with the car are on it now.

Hope this helps!

How to get tire off when missing tire key

on most lock lugs, a socket can be knocked onto the lug, in other cases use a hammer and a chisel. hit the lug dead center and the lug will crack. if you dont want to ruin the lug, find a tire shop or a place that sells rims and rim accesories

I have a flat tire, but do not have the special tool to take off the bolt. Any ideas? 2010 Honda CRV

Most auto parts stores have Locking Lug Nut removal tools. If you know the size of your lug nut you may be able to buy a single tool that fits on a standard ratchet to remove the locking lug nut. If your lug nut is the type that spins without the proper tool to remove it, your best bet is a mechanic with the proper equipment to avoid doing damage to the wheel or stud.

Good luck!

How do I remove a locking lug nut from a 96 cavalier. There is no clearance between the nut and the rim. I cannot fit a socket or wrench around it. Is there another way without cutting it off.

You're supposed to have a key socket to remove it. There's also removal tool kit. Most tire dealers have the kit and can remove it for you.

Need to replace brakepads but have lost the original wheel removal tools

go to a tire store, have them break the "LOCKING" lug nuts.
you would not be able to use that nut w/o a key, but at least you will be able to get the tire off.
