I don't say it just stopped and now will not crank? What are you using to define crank? To me, when you say it doesn't crank that means when you turn the key you get nothing...just a click...but the motor does not turn over. If you were able to turn the engine over and verify firing and timing then it is cranking. Clarify what you see, ok, please?

If starter will engage and engine can turn over quickly it should start.

however.. i dont know how you are verifying it has fuel as its a high-pressure FI system.

these systems by GM are VERY finicky and unless within spec precisely it will NOT run. i suspect fuel pump is putting out less than 57# which is min for these.

fuel pump known failure part. if replaced you MUST also replace wire harness at tank as they usually fail internally w/melted wires you cant see through wire sheath. low voltage will KILL the new pump.

also you didnt note engine size and family...

My 97 gmc jimmy willnot start cranks up but wont start

could be the fuel pump which is located in the gas tank. You should be able to hear it when you turn the key on.

check the fuel pump relay, some gm vehicles default to the oil pressure switch if the FPR fails.

1997 gmc jimmy engine not getting fuel, i was driving it all day ran fine ,i stop at a gas station i turned it on and then it turn off, couldent turn it back on engine cranks.i check all fuses and relays...

May very well be a bad pump. A person can't answer for sure over the web though because it cannot be properly diagnosed.
Can you hear it prime for about 2 seconds when you first turn the key to ON?
If you run it low on fuel often (1/4 and bellow) then that could kill a pump. They use the fuel to keep cool.
Or if you have an alarm that disables ignition, I have seen those be faulty many times before.

Turn over but wont crank up

check your E.C.M. fuse, then you could have a bad E.C.M. or coil packs on the vehicle

1994 GMC Jimmy hard to start and runs rough when first started

i think if you checked the sparking plugs and map sensors then check your distributer its maybe not delivering the current nedded to perform the spark to some of the cylinders
