Question about 2003 Land Rover Freelander

1 Answer

Keyfob problem I have a Landrover Freelander. The keyfob which operates the doorlocks unlocks the doors ok but when you have put the keyfob in the ignition the alarm beeps. This continues intermitantly until you press the unlock button on the fob and this stops the beeping. Can you tell me what is wrong please?

Try changing the fob battery .the freelander has a fob low battery warning tone that will start after the alarm has been deactivated by the fob with a low battery and will stop after the key is switched to acc. for any one wanting info on problems with freelander , goto this web site . http://www.myfreelander.co.uk/

I had to put a new battery in my remote that I use to unlock the doors on my 2002 xtype Jaguar. Since changing the battery I can not get it to operate. How do I reset it?

http://www.bluejag.co.uk/X-Type-keyfob-reprogramming.php

copy/pasted from the above link..

"Programming or pairing a new remote Keyfob for the X Type is a very simple job that will cost a substantial amount if it is done by Jaguar. It's annoying but this may need to be done if your Keyfob battery has been allowed to go flat, or the car battery has been removed for any length of time.
Follow these steps exactly and you should have no problems, pairing old or replacement Keyfobs for your car.

1.)I would recommended that you ensure all key fobs are fitted with new batteries. ( Click here to see battery replacement guide).
2.)Get in the car and close the drivers side door.
3.)Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I.
4.)Wait 5 seconds
5.)Turn the key quickly to position II then back to I four times.
6.)You should hear a single chime.
7.)Remove the Key
8.)For each Keyfob in rapid succesion. Press any single button on the keyfob you wish to pair, you should hear a chime as each Keyfob is paired with the security system. After the chime do the next Keyfob.
9.)Check operation of each Keyfob. "

Hope it works for you!

Hi. the door actuator must be acting weird and needs to be checked. I suggest you take a look at it and check also the wiring of your door.

1996 ford explorer- power locks clicking in the locked position.when unlocked it stops, also wont lock when hitting the lock button on the keyfob .is there a separate fuse for doorlocks that could be blown?...

sounds more like a relay for the door locks that is not getting a response back from circuit. keeps trying to lock and nothing saying it is locked.

My husband has a landrover freelander, cant lock the car

first thing i would be checking is the door switches on each door if are broken or by removing switches to see if connection is broken or badly corroded also check bonnet & tailgate switches for same problem.

How do i open the back door of the 2004 landrover freelander from

There is no way but to short the wires at the tail door switch outside which should only be done if you have a circuit diagram and experience on the vehicles electrical systems or you could damage components beyond repair.Make sure the fuse is not blown.
