I do not recomend attempting this job it is a very difficult job. If you must do this job aquire a Haynes repair manual to walk you through the procedure, some vehicles require you to deactivate the air bag system before attempting the job.

OMG! I can't believe this guy said this is a "very difficult job." This does require a little mechanical sense, but is a piece of cake to do. I can have mine replaced in about 15 minutes. And NO, I am not a Honda tech and do not work as a mechanic, even though I did grow up working on cars and have done so out of necessity for most of my 51 years.

Honda odessey engine code p3100

There is no p3100 code!!

I think you copied this wrong. the code is p0301, which is a common one.

The P0301 code means that the cylinder 1 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 1. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem.

Possible causes
- Faulty spark plug 1
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 1
- Faulty ignition coil 1
- Fuel injector 1 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 1 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 1 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak

Most likely cause:
Faulty spark plug 1 or Faulty ignition coil 1 (Ignitor coil)

Either are easy fixes. Start with a new spark plug. If the problem continues replace the coil. Pic below. new about $30-$40.

Need to replace an engine

I would say not as you have a different block that will have different mounts , wiring possible gearbox flange etc different exhaust . Talk with an engine swap shop mechanic for the problems you are likely to encounter.

3 windows on '95 odessey won't let down. drivers side window ok. All windows that won't let down happened at once. could it be a relay?

i would suspect the drivers door window master switch as the problem. and that is fairly common as all power to all window ciruits run through the master switch

2008 honda odessey ignition switch trouble

I have same problem - intermittently in my 2005 Honda Odyssey (Australian Version)! Same story with dealer response since of course it will not do it when I take it in (twice). Honda dealer says he cannot repair problem unless he sees it is broken! Very frustrating!!!!

I have had some success by putting the key in and out of lock several times and then moving it about when I try to start the car - normally this fixes it. I only hope this does not break permanently when I am far from home!

Keen to hear if others have this problem and have found a permanent solution.
