Question about 2003 Mazda MPV

1 Answer

2003 Mazda MPV I changed the passanger side light 3 weeks ago I thought everything was fine. Now it was out again but looking closer at it I noticed that the socket is melted. i pulled it off and went and got a new socket my driver side light was still working. When I tried to sodder the wires I ran into problems with my sodder iron as it would not make the wires hot enough to melt the sodder so I tried heating them up with a open flame but still unsuccessful. Now the drives side light which I was not working on only works on high beam. Where do I go from here.

My 2WD 1996 Mazda MPV transmission dipstick is a black stick, from out side, it look about a foot long from bottom to top with a black handle that is about 2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. It is locate between the battery and the engine, actually, the top of it is a little bit lower than the bottom of the battery and closer to the front of the engine where the belts are.

Shaking mazda mpv 2003 in idle and loud radiator fan

Hello there, As far as the check engine light I would think since you mentioned it shacking that your light will probably be on for a misfire, Meaning most likely you have a spark plug wire going bad. I would stop by somewhere such as Autozone for a free check to tell you why your light is on just to double check.

Your fan issue could be several different things such as the fan motor going bad or the blades could be rubbing something, that one is a little tricky without hearing it.

Good Luck and I hope this does help you some. Allen

My 2004 Mazda MPV AC does not seem to be working it blows air out but not as cold as it should be - any ideas - it seemed cold enough last week

My 2004 MPV was just diagnosed with a corroded aluminum line to the rear cabin air-con unit. It cost me $50 to get the unit leak-checked. Also got a $700 estimate to replace the line.

'03 MPV problem

we had a very similar problem on our 2003 mazda mpv. at first we were also told coils. we changed all the coils out and the problem came back. we found out that it was a leak in the egr valve and gasket. there was also another leak found after that. when the leaks were fixed, the problem stopped. i suggest checking for leaks in your engine, this could be the problem.

Mazda MPV 2003 Turn Off On The Highway

I had a similar problme to this years ago on a VW that I was driving.

I took it into the the shop and they said that they couldn't find the problem either and couldn't get the car to do it when they tested it.

Then a few weeks later it happened to me again as I was out in the country and an old farmer stopped by to help.

He discovered that the wire leading to the alternator was too thin. It would over heat and then shut the car down. Once it cooled off, it would start up like nothing.

He got a larger piece of wire and and changed it for me right there on the spot. It took about 5 minutes and I was off and running.

I never had the problem again.

I don't know if this is the same thing that you have, but it's worth a look.

Good luck.
